CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
ARGE Grimsel
Lake Grimsel is the largest and thus also the most important reservoir of Kraftwerke Oberhasli AG (KWO). Lake Grimsel is dammed by two dams.
The Spitallamm dam is one of two dams on Lake Grimsel. The dam is now over 90 years old and in need of renovation. Instead of renovating the old wall, the KWO will build a new one directly in front of it from June 2019, which is scheduled for completion in 2025. With the new replacement wall, the KWO is ensuring that the water from Lake Grimsel can be used for electricity production without restriction in the long term.
In search of a solution, the Grimsel consortium approached HG Commerciale in Interlaken: A flexible formwork triangular strip would lead to enormous added value and time savings on the construction site, as up to now wooden triangular strips had been cut in small pieces and lined up to make a rounding.
For this, we have used a recipe from our residential flooring finishes and manufactured the triangular moulding with soft PVC and supplied it in long rolls. The flexible triangular skirting boards have the same sharp edges as their rigid relatives and comply 100% with the specifications of ARGE Grimsel.
