Flat handrail – Allee-Brühl-Mattenstrasse project, Biel

The architectural firm studio WOW from Biel designed the Allee-Brühl-Mattenstrasse project with great creative sensitivity. The buildings impress with their well-thought-out forms, intelligent layout of the flats and carefully coordinated colour scheme – both inside and out.
Particular attention was paid to the design of the stairwells, which extend over six floors. The round light wells in the ceilings are echoed by the round lamps, which are also recessed into the ceiling cavities. The stairwell also picks up on the round shape and continues the design theme.
The black promano handrail from profilsager ag blends seamlessly into the architectural concept: its curved lines harmoniously echo the curves of the staircase. At the same time, the continuous handrail emphasises the vertical connection across all six floors.
In combination with the ruby red colour of the staircase soffits, the exposed concrete and the black handrails, a harmonious, powerful overall picture is created.
