This way, the skates of the professionals, as well as those of the public, don't hit a hick in the dark wall. From the toilet facilities, through the corridors to the stands, the plastic band protects the painted wall tone-in-tone. The generous height is a deliberate design element and picks up on the theme of the ice rink's boards.
