Profilsager at almost 3,000 metres above sea level

Early in the morning, we set off by coach towards the Bernese Oberland. After a short coffee break at the Brünig Pass, we continued our journey to the Lauterbrunnen Valley. With beautiful summer weather, the region was at its very best. Surrounded by traditional chalets and impressive rock faces, it quickly became clear why this valley attracts visitors from all over the world.

Heading to Mürren at a gradient of 159.4%

In Stechelberg, we swapped the coach for the cable car. And not just any cable car: with a maximum gradient of 159.4%, the direct connection to Mürren is the steepest cable car in the world.

The journey alongside the almost vertical Mürren cliff was just as impressive as the figures suggest. You rarely get this close to the rock face unless you are a BASE jumper. An experience we were quite happy to leave to others. 😉

From Mürren, we continued via Birg to the Schilthorn at 2,970 metres above sea level.

profilsager on the Schilthorn?

Once at the top, everyone’s attention naturally turned to the spectacular mountain scenery. Well, almost everyone’s.

Wherever there is construction work, the profilsager team tends to take a closer look. It did not take long before a suspiciously familiar detail caught our attention: could that really be a ferrofix spacer from profilsager, up here at almost 3,000 metres?

We were unable to answer the question with absolute certainty, so our attention soon turned to the equally impressive panorama.

James Bond also left his mark on the Schilthorn. In the film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”, today’s Piz Gloria served as the headquarters of Bond’s adversary Blofeld. After some refreshments, the braver members of our group ventured onto the Thrill Walk before we headed back down into the valley.

There, beneath the large chestnut trees, we enjoyed the cool mountain air once more before making our way back to the summer heat of the lowlands.

What remains are many good conversations, plenty of shared laughter and a memorable day surrounded by spectacular nature. For once, far away from plastic profiles, production and our everyday working routine.
